7 Days of BlogMas: 2024 Lessons, Blessings & Reflections

We made it! Happy Sunday Funday & and welcome to the final blog post of 2024 and the grand finale of Blogmas, it’s been a wild ride. As 2024 comes to an end, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the moments, challenges, and surprises that shaped the year. Here are my 10 takeaways from the year ready for 2025, because if 2024 taught me anything, it’s that life is unpredictable, messy, and full of opportunities to grow. Let's fucking go.

1. Everything Happens for a Reason - Even if It Doesn’t Make Sense Yet

When friends drift, relationships shift, or career plans don’t exactly unfold overnight (shoutout to working at Matalan earlier this year), it’s easy to feel lost. But trust the process; every twist, turn, and setback is leading to something bigger. Those confusing and shitty moments often turn into stories you’ll later look back on as pivotal. The “why” might not make sense now, but trust me, it’s coming.

2. Happiness Isn’t a Finish Line

Happiness isn’t just about ticking off big goals like landing your dream job or smashing a fitness milestone. It’s in those everyday glimmers; a sweet text from a pal, the first sip of a matcha, or a blissful walk in the sunshine with your favourite podcast. Joy is found in those little moments along the way, not just at the end of the journey.

3. What’s Meant for You Will Find You

One thing I’ve learned: the harder you chase something, the more it feels like it’s running in the opposite direction. Whether it's a new relationship, a career breakthrough, or a big life change, sometimes the best move is to focus on yourself and trust the process. What’s meant for you will show up when the time is right, no need to beg or chase it down!

4. Sobriety and Wellness Are Anything but Boring

To everyone who says I’m boring because my perfect Friday night involves a bath, a bowl of pasta, reality TV, and absolutely no regrets: let me hit you with a reality check. Skipping the night outs in the boozer to focus on your health doesn’t make you boring, it makes you present. Prioritising rest, clarity, and feeling good is the ultimate act of self-respect. Wellness isn’t about missing out; it’s about showing up as your best self, minus the burnout.

5. True Friends Shine in Tough Times

Friendships aren’t about who’s the loudest cheerleader during the highs, they’re proven in the lows. True friends are the ones who stick around when life gets messy, call you when you need them most, and offer support no matter where they are in the world. They listen without judgment, remind you that you’re never alone, and you do the same for them. That’s what real friendship looks like.

6. Visualisation and Manifestation Are Game-Changers

Manifesting what you want isn’t just wishful thinking, it’s a real power move. Mood boards, affirmations, and acting as if you already have what you’re striving for can create serious shifts. (Here's to my 2024 vision board—I’ve got photos in my camera roll that match it exactly. Major slay.) Step into the energy of your dream life, and watch how everything starts to align.

7. Confidence and Self-Belief Are Career Superpowers

Hard work matters, but confidence and self-belief are what truly set you apart, it’s how I’ve landed a couple of freelance gigs, fueled by nothing but delusional self-confidence. When you walk into a room like you belong there, people take notice. Trust your skills, own your fucking worth, and don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself.

8. Being Single Is a Blessing

I could shout this from the rooftops: being single in your mid-to-late 20s isn’t a curse, it’s a gift. It’s your time to fall in love with your own company, figure out what truly makes you happy, and build independence. When you’re confident and content on your own, you naturally attract people and opportunities that add to your life rather than define it. Plus, let’s be real, men at this age? Terrible.

9. Success Doesn’t Guarantee Everyday Happiness

Even when you hit your goals or your dreams come true, life can still feel heavy. I’ve had plenty of days where everything seems to be going right and I’m living the life I worked so hard for, I still can’t get out of bed and just want to cry. Achievements are incredible, but they’re not a magic fix for emotional lows. And that’s okay. It’s a reminder that success doesn’t erase your feelings—it just makes you human.

10. Life’s Not That Serious

I remind myself of this daily, especially when everything feels like one big f** s*** f**** spiral. We’re literally spinning on a floating rock, so let's try to stop overthinking & start living. Travel, chase your passions, and do what genuinely makes you happy. Life’s way too short to live for anyone else’s expectations and make every single day count.

And that’s a wrap on 2024, what a beautiful crazy special ride it’s been. If there's one thing this year has shown me, it’s that life doesn’t follow a perfect path, and that’s where the real growth happens. From finding joy in the little things to trusting the process always and focusing on what truly matters, this year has been all about the lessons learned along the way.

As we step into 2025, take a moment to reflect on the lessons you’ve learned and the growth you’ve experienced. Think about what didn’t go as planned and how it shaped you. Set your goals for the new year, create your vision board, make a list of how you can level up; take more risks, or even focus on prioritising rest and you time. Make sure they align with what truly matters to you.

Stay true to yourself, embrace the ups and downs, and make 2025 a year of growth and authenticity. Have a lovely Christmas & chat in the new year. Until 2025, catch up on all things The Life of Molly every day and check out my IG here!
